Terms of use
Effective Operator: Reason22
Rationable is operated by Reason22. Using the app or the hosted sync service means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
What you are using
Rationable is an outliner in private testing. It is incomplete on purpose, parts of it are described as unbuilt on the home page, and it changes without notice. Treat it as software under construction, because that is what it is.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 16. If you use Rationable for work, you confirm you may accept these terms on behalf of whoever you work for.
Your account
The hosted service signs you in with Google. Keeping that Google account secure is your responsibility, and anything done through a session it opens counts as done by you. You can delete your Rationable account at any time, which permanently removes the data described in theprivacy policy.
Your writing stays yours
You own what you write. You give Reason22 only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, move it between your devices, keep the backups and compacted copies that make sync work, and show it back to you.
That permission ends when you delete the content or the account. Your content is not sold, not used for advertising and not used to train any model. The only companies that hold it are the infrastructure providers named in the privacy policy, which hold it in order to run the service.
What you may not do
- Store or move anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to store.
- Attack, probe or overload the service, or work around its limits.
- Resell the service or run it on someone else's behalf as a product of your own.
- Use another person's account, or share yours.
Availability
There is no uptime promise. During private testing the service can be interrupted, reset, changed or withdrawn, and features can disappear. The intention is to warn you before the hosted service is shut down for good so that you can get your data out, but that is an intention rather than a guarantee, which is the second reason to keep your own copy.
Keep your own copy
Sync is a convenience, not a backup service. On the desktop your document is a file on your own machine and that is the copy to look after. Data loss is possible in software this early, so keep your own copies of anything you would be upset to lose.
Suspension
An account can be suspended or closed if it breaks these terms, if it is being used to attack or abuse the service, or if the law requires it. Where it is possible and sensible, you will be told why and given a chance to get your data out first.
No warranty, and the limits of what can be claimed
Rationable is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be available, correct, or fit for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Reason22 is not liable for lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using Rationable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, fraud or gross negligence. If you use Rationable as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes to these terms
These terms change on this page, with a new effective date. Continuing to use Rationable after a change means accepting the new version. If a change is one you do not accept, delete your account.
